Wow, what a reception at Nied's! Thanks to everyone who came out!
Join us on Saturday, March 8th at Nied's Hotel in Lawrenceville. We'll be playing music starting at 8PM, including a lot of new songs. The people are friendly, the beer is cold, the food is great and the fish sandwich is legendary - even in a city full of legendary fish sandwiches. So stop by early, grab some dinner, have a few drinks, we'll play some songs and have a great time!
Recording has been a lot of fun, but we're getting cabin fever. We've started to touch base with bars and venues and hope to see you out at your local watering hole in the next few months.
Taking advantage of Kevin's misfortune (he's gimped for a few months) and gonna concentrate out efforts for a little bit on recording. We have enough originals to pull together an full album and are looking forward to laying down some tracks. We hope to get back into the live scene after the New Year. See you in 2014.
The next gig is something different. We'll be part of the R.A.N.T. music festival spanning multiple venues throughout Lawrenceville all day and night on August 10th. Our slot is at Wild Purveyors Market around 11AM. Busking during this all-day event is encouraged, so you may find us around Lawrenceville later in the day. Come out and enjoy us and some of the 50 other bands!
Well, Ziggy's went out of business about 48 hours before our gig. Yeah. What can you do? I feel bad, it was a nice joint, and I really liked their food. Starting a small business is pretty tough. But Friday's gig at the Park House was absolutely fantastic! Enthusiastic crowd, great food. If you were there, we hope to see you again soon. And who knows, maybe playing the Park House can become a regular thing...
And the gigs keep coming. We'll be at the Park House Tavern on the North Side on June 28th. Heard a lot about this venue, and we're really excited to be playing there. Hope to see everyone next week!
Really excited to play Ziggy's at the intersection of Perry and Cumberland on the 27th. Really nice joint. Great bar, good food (try the prezel sticks) and a cigar bar upstairs. And it's ladies night with $3.50 Absolut drinks. And there's a parking lot! Hey, when you're loading and uloading gear, that's a big deal!
Had a great time at Hambones. First time seeing out name on a marquee. I have to say, that was pretty cool. Mary Jo and Jeff were very supportive and gave us a ton of great advice.
Woops, never posted anything about the gig tomorrow. There's a gig tomorrow! Hambones, 9PM (probably playing at 9:30PM to 1AM), $5 cover, 21+. Three long sets; lots of music. Hope to see you there!
Just wanted to share this awesome poster Kevin made for the Brewstone gig! We'll be playing three sets there on April 19th sometime between 8 and midnight. They say if the weather holds out, they'll open up these big garage doors to their patio with fire pits.
We will be happy to once again be in Larrytown at Hambones on Friday, May 10th. More details to come.
Ok, the Brewstone gig has been moved to Friday, April 19th. Hope to see you there!
3/3/13 - The calendar keeps filling up! We will be playing at the historic Park House on the Northside on Friday Evening, June 28th. The Park House is the oldest bar in Pittsburgh. With over 120 years of serving hardworking patrons, it's now a local favorite in the Burgh with FREE live music throughout the week. Should be a great time!
3/2/13 - We are very excited to be playing at the new Brewstone Restaurant and Taproom on Saturday, April
20th 19th. Brewstone is located at the old site of John Harvards on William Penn Highway. A top notch menu and over 30 beers on tap make it a great place to hang out and enjoy some good live music.
2/24/13 - We've been invited back to Arsenal Lanes in Lawrenceville on April 3rd for Wednesday night Rock n' Bowl. We'll be going on around 10PM, but $8 bowling (all-you-can-bowl) starts at 9PM. So get there early, and bring your ID because it's 21 and over. Arsenal Lanes also has a lounge, pool table, and well stocked bar. This isn't the cosmic bowling of your teenage years. Don't forget to ask the bartender for a Big Lebowski. It's Amazing!
And stay tuned as we work hard to secure more gigs for this spring and summer.
1/22/13 - Last night's benefit concert was a lot of fun and it was nice to see some money being raised for a good cause. The event was held at the Bloomfield Bridge Tavern and donations collected benefited the Duncan & Porter Shelter for the Homeless.
11/30/12 - And more good news! 8 days after taking the stage - er... lane at Arsenal Lanes in Lawrenceville, we'll be doing our thing at The Thunderbird Cafe just across the street! After playing on 12/12/12, we're going to be playing on 12/20/12. That's right, it's the last night on earth, and we're throwing a party! Well, Evan, the booker is throwing a party. But we'll be providing the entertainment. Paul Labrise is opening, but so far there's no closer. And that's fine by us, it means we can play you into the apocalypse! This isn't our official poster, but I threw it together as a joke and thought it was too good to not share:
11/26/12 - Lots of good news! The splint is off and it doesn't seem to have slowed Hernan down at all. He laid down some monster beebop-style licks at the last jam session. We also have secured a gig at Arsenal Lanes in Lawrenceville on December 12th (yes, that's 12/12/12). We'll be going on around 10PM, but $8 bowling starts at 9PM. So get there early, and bring your ID because it's 21 and over. Creamy drinks don't agree with my stomach, but I've heard their Big Lebowski (a double White Russian) is amazing!
